VP Mohadi in Kadoma for World Habitat Day commemorations

Conrad Mupesa – Mashonaland West Bureau

VICE President Kembo Mohadi has arrived at the Great Dyke Investments Smart City project in Kadoma for this year’s belated World Habitat Day commemorations.

The celebrations will coincide with the commissioning of the smart city project, where a 6 000-unit housing project is set to highlight efforts to expand access to modern and sustainable human settlements.

The event spotlights the role of planned residential developments in addressing housing demand, attracting investment and supporting the Government’s drive to establish modern, inclusive and sustainable communities.

National Housing and Social Amenities Minister, Prof Paul Mavima and Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Marian Chombo are among the senior Government officials present.

World Habitat Day is marked on the first Monday of October each year, and is recognised by the United Nations to reflect on the state of towns and cities.
