Vice-President Kembo Mohadi has arrived in Gwanda where he is expected to commission the Joshua Nkomo Clinic.
The clinic is set to improve healthcare service delivery in the mining town, which has been relying on a single clinic to serve a growing population.

According to the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZimStat) 2022 report, Gwanda’s urban population has surged to more than 27 000 residents, placing significant pressure on Phakama Clinic, which currently serves the majority of the town’s population.
Hope has, however, been renewed following the construction of the Joshua Nkomo Clinic by local philanthropist Mr Jimayi Muduvuri, a development that has brought relief to the community.

The clinic, named after Father Zimbabwe, Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo, will offer free medical services to veterans of the liberation struggle and people living with disabilities.
Joshua Nkomo Clinic joins a growing list of health institutions constructed by the Muduvuri Rehabilitation and Empowerment Foundation. Other clinics established by the foundation include Chief Rekai Tangwena Clinic in Nyanga North, Robert Mugabe Clinic in Murombedzi, Simon Muzenda Clinic in Gokwe Centre, Ndabaningi Sithole Clinic in Chipinge, Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa Clinic in Nembudziya, Mama Mafuyana Clinic in Harare, Herbert Chitepo Clinic in Mutare and Josiah Tongogara Clinic in Masvingo.
The projects are part of efforts aligned with the Second Republic’s inclusive development agenda aimed at improving access to healthcare services across the country.
