VICE PRESIDENT Kembo Mohadi yesterday paid a visit to liberation war stalwart Colonel Kenny Ridzai Mabuya, who is admitted at Westend Clinic in Harare.
Col Mabuya collapsed on Friday before being rushed to the medical centre.
Speaking to The Sunday Mail after the visit, Chief of Staff in VP Mohadi’s office Dr Clever Chirume said: “He was visiting in his capacity as (the then) Acting President. Colonel Mabuya is a stalwart of our liberation struggle.
“He was one of the comrades who were in the High Command during the liberation struggle. The VP visited to ensure that everything was being done to make sure that Colonel Mabuya makes a full recovery.
“He will also be consulting with His Excellency, President Dr ED Mnangagwa, to make sure that all the assistance is rendered to Colonel Mabuya for him to make a full recovery. The VP is also praying for Cde Mabuya to make a quick recovery.”
He said Colonel Mabuya was one of the surviving members of the Zimbabwe People’s Revolutionary Army (ZIPRA) and Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army (ZANLA) High Command who were gifted with top-of-the-range vehicles and cash by the Government last year as part of ongoing efforts to appreciate their sacrifices.
