Vice President Joice Mujuru has called on companies operating in Zimbabwe to engage in corporate social responsibility as a way of paying back to communities. She made the remarks after receiving 35 computers, 20 soccer balls and six sport kits from a Mashonaland Central-based gold processing company, Timsite Enterprises.

“This is a call to all those companies to also perform social responsibility that we normally talk about.

“I am happy that these computers will not work in Mashonaland Central or in my constituency only. But that I am also going to give them to a department in the Ministry of Agriculture because they had requested that they want to use at least 10 computers for their programme.”

Timsite board chairperson, Cde Right Munyaradzi Banda, said corporate social responsibility was one of their founding principles.

“We decided to pay back to the community through you our Vice President as someone who comes from the province where we are operating. It is up to you to donate to organisations of your choice,” said Cde Banda.
