VICE Presidents Dr Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi have joined the nation in celebrating First Lady Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa’s 62nd birthday.
In a statement yesterday through his Chief of Staff, Dr Clever Chirume, VP Mohadi expressed his heartfelt sentiments.
“Through your tireless efforts in philanthropy, health and environmental advocacy, as well as community development, you continue to touch countless lives, embodying the spirit of Ubuntu.
“May the Lord keep you healthy and strong as you fulfil your duties for the benefit of us all. Makorokoto Amhlope!” he said.
In his message, Vice President Chiwenga emphasised the significant impact of the First Lady’s philanthropic efforts through the Angel of Hope Foundation, which has uplifted the lives of many underprivileged Zimbabweans.
He praised Amai Mnangagwa’s multifaceted role, describing her as a beacon of hope and a catalyst for change in various sectors, particularly health and child care, environmental conservation and tourism.
“The nation is gratified to spare a moment to reflect and cherish the tremendous work that she continues to spearhead and accomplish towards uplifting the quality of lives for our people,” said VP Chiwenga.
“Indeed, special mention goes to the various life-changing programmes she has initiated and implemented for the underprivileged through the Angel of Hope Foundation.
“Over the years, her philanthropic work remains inspirational as it contributes meaningfully to the growth of various sectors of the economy.”
VP Chiwenga said as the Ambassador for Health and Child Care as well as Patron of Environment and Tourism, the First Lady had spearheaded unprecedented milestones in the provision of quality health care, sustainable environmental conservation and promotion of the tourism sector.
“The country emulates with pride, the indelible legacy of commitment, compassion, generosity and the spirit of giving she has inculcated in all Zimbabweans,” said VP Chiwenga.
“On behalf of the great nation of Zimbabwe, my family and, indeed, my own behalf, I wish you, Your Excellency the First Lady, a happy birthday. We pray that the Lord continues to bless you and the First Family.”
Dr Mnangagwa, who turned 62 yesterday, has been celebrated by many for the profound impact she has made on many people, especially the less privileged, across the country.
She has long been recognised locally and across the globe for her tireless commitment to philanthropy and community development.
Her initiatives span various sectors, with a significant focus on health, education, and environmental advocacy.
The First Lady’s efforts have provided hope and relief to the elderly, children, those previously abandoned by society and victims of drugs and substance abuse.
She established the Angel of Hope Foundation, which uplifts vulnerable communities by providing essential services, including healthcare and education.
A pivotal aspect of her work has been her dedication to improving maternal and child health.
Through various campaigns, she has raised awareness about the importance of prenatal care, safe childbirth, and postnatal support.
Her initiatives have significantly contributed to lowering maternal mortality rates, ensuring that mothers and their children receive the care they need to thrive.
In addition to health, the First Lady has been an ardent advocate for environmental sustainability. Recognising the challenges posed by climate change, she has spearheaded tree-planting campaigns and clean-up initiatives aimed at fostering a culture of environmental stewardship. Dr Mnangagwa’s efforts have not only beautified communities, but also educated citizens on the importance of preserving Zimbabwe’s natural resources.
As VP Mohadi noted, Dr Mnangagwa’s work embodies the spirit of Ubuntu—a philosophy that emphasises community, compassion, and interconnectedness.
Over the years, her unwavering commitment to the well-being of her fellow citizens has inspired many to engage in acts of kindness and service. On her special day, the nation reflects on her journey—a story of resilience, love, and dedication.
