VUNGU Rural District Council is proposing a $3,5 million budget for 2019 which is $1,4 million more compared to this year’s.

Chief executive officer Mr Alex Magura said the bulk of the money for the proposed budget will be spent on completing projects. “We are proposing a budget of $3,5 million and we plan to spend the bulk of the money on funding the completion of projects started this year,” he said.

Mr Magura called on ratepayers to pay their bills to enable council to improve on its service delivery.

He said one of the major projects council wants to implement was the construction of Impala Clinic in Ward One to serve people in surrounding resettlement areas.

Mr Magura said people in the area were travelling to Gweru city to access health services.

He said $800 000 has been set aside for road rehabilitation and said already 250km of road in the district had been attended to.

Mr Magura said council wanted to also complete the servicing of 450 housing stands at Insukamini Growth Point in Lower Gweru.
