AFTER delivering a moving and well orchestrated performance at the inaugural Ekhaya Worship Festival in 2025, gospel musician.Vusa Mangena is set to return for the event’s second edition.
The praise and worship gathering will take place in Bulawayo on Africa Day (May 25).Mangena expressed gratitude for being invited back, describing the festival as a spiritual and career milestone.
For this year’s performance, the musician promised an immersive worship experience,featuring soul stirring songs from his latest album, Sewakhile.
“It’s an absolute blessing to be part of Ekhaya once again. I feel honoured to share the stage with such incredible artistes. The excitement is already building, and I look forward to worshipping with everyone,” he said.“Ekhaya is a powerful platform that allows me to showcase my music and connect with a wider audience.
Sharing the stage with leading names in gospel is a great honour and an opportunity to grow my brand while spreading the message through music.”
Beyond the music, Mangena said the festival brings people together and boosts Bulawayo’s economy. “This event is not just about music, but about bringing people together
and celebrating faith.
It also plays a significant role in boosting local businesses and positioning Bulawayo as destination for major cultural and spiritual gatherings,” he said. Last year’s edition drew worshippers from across Zimbabwe and neighbouring countries, providing a notable boost to the city’s hospitality sector. Curated by multi-award-winning musician, Everton Mlalazi, the annual festival will feature a strong line-up of regional gospel heavyweights.
Among them are South Africa’s Zaza Mokhethi, Dumi Mkokstad, Oncemore Six, Canaan Nyathi, and acappella group Reality 7, renowned for fusing contemporary gospel with
traditional isicathamiya sounds.
The event will also include performances from Dunamis Men, Nkosi Herman, Conquerors, Pastor Barak Family, Zimpraise, Family Voices, Mai Mwamuka, Lorraine Maplanka, Vocal Ex and Blessing Jeduthun, Loveness Mukutirwa, Mwenda Shimunzhila, iWorship Zim, and Tehillah Testament
