As the schools close for the festive season holidays, Waddilove High School refuses to just go without giving their peers a Christmas gift. The gift comes in form of a 10-track album titled “Ishe Ndinzwe Nokufara”. Nine tracks are from the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe hymn book and these include the title track “Ishe Ndinzwe Nokufara”, “Ngatimukudze Mwari”, “Pane Sipiti”, “Mwari Muri Zuva Redu” among others. Only one song which is the last track “Mwari Vanokupa” was composed by the group’s co-producer and leader Patrick Nyahwo.
In an interview with Cool Lifestyle, Nyahwo said they have decided to release the album during the festive season as a present to the cool teens out there and also everyone who loves gospel music.
“The year is coming to an end and it is by the grace of God that we are here and the festive season is the time when people exchange gifts and as Waddilove High School we are saying this is our Christmas gift to every Zimbabwean out there, enjoy the festive season in the grace of God,” he said.
The group which is under the name “Soldiers of Heaven” comprises of 23 students with most of them being in Lower Six and a few Ordinary Level students.
Nyahwo also pointed out that parents should support their children who love music saying people are making a living out of it.
“People used to think that music was for people who are not gifted academically but gone are the days when music was associated with people of loose morals, it’s high time that parents support their children because a lot of people are making a living out on music,” he said.
He also thanked Waddilove High School authorities including the headmaster Godfrey Munyoro, Principal Rev Edmore Vhazhure, group managers and teacher Sydney Sithole and also the parents for supporting them.
The group is working on a DVD album that is set to be released in the first quarter of next year.
The lead vocalists are Kuda Chirairo, Yolanda Setete, Ruvarashe Mugwidi, Godknows Seremani and Ashley Mapfumo.
