An old aunt of mine told me an interesting story that I will share with you. She told me that as a young woman she was actively involved in her church to a point where she was appointed to lead. She taught Bible lessons and managed to bring many souls to the Lord. As life would have it, she met someone outside her church, they fell in love and decided to get married.
She announced her impending marriage to her fellow congregants, but to her shock and horror the leadership did not take the news of her intended marriage to a person of a different suasion very well. She was thus reprimanded and asked to step down from her position of leadership. As far as the leadership was concerned an upstanding citizen and church member like her should have married someone from within her own congregation. According to them, she was setting the wrong example for the youths by showing them that one could be yoked to someone who did not share her faith. Love triumphed and she went on to marry her sweetheart, she went back to her old church and asked to be readmitted, but before she could do that she underwent a baptismal class for new converts, after which she was baptised and readmitted. At about the same time her pastor placed a wager on the class that anyone who could find some significant scriptures in the Bible that have been a source of conflict between Christian denominations for generations would be rewarded with a monetary prize.
A princely sum was touted as the price for the deserving student; at this news she rushed back to her new husband to tell him about the challenge. He accepted and immediately started working on the assignment at hand. He wanted to win the money so he made it his business to study and search the scriptures for the verses that were the source of the challenge. He read and read and premised on his desire to acquire this monetary price, he declared to his wife that he was so convicted by what he had read that he wanted to be baptised and become a member of her church.
God has a plan for each and every one of us to fellowship with Him, He decided and decreed this before we were born. Like my aunt’s husband whose intentions were totally devoid of the spiritual goal at hand, God reeled him in and brought him closer to Him through the things that motivated him.

They became members of the same church, through her desire for them to win the monetary price she had brought a new convert, and helped a soul find the one true God.
Though circumstances and people may work against us, God will always ensure that, through the people around us, we see the light. We are all missionaries with a specific task to help improve the lives of people by sharing this good news that we have been exposed to.
Our level of spiritual understanding may differ, where we are in our Christian walk may be different but one thing is certain, He has a message of hope, love, forgiveness and salvation that He wants you to hear and share.
Listen to His call to you, may you be the missionary you were born to be, change a life today, introduce them to something better and more fulfilling and before long, like my great old uncle, you too will find the way, the truth and the light.
