TODAY marks exactly 57 days before Dr Gasolo re-embarks on his walkathon meant to push the plight of Zimbabwean artistes.

Dubbed the “Long Walk to Success”, the walkathon which is in its second edition will see the artist walk using the same route as last year from his rural Matshetsheni village to KoBulawayo.

This time around though, the walk will come with a twist meant to unleash raw talent in Gwanda North.

Said Dr Gasolo: “As the saying goes, ‘There is a difference between working hard and doing hard work’. In whatever we do, let’s work hard. This year, I will continue with my walk which is a sacrifice that I’m taking for local artistes to get the recognition and support they deserve.

“We’ll start on August 9 at Matshetsheni village with an event to be known as Matshetshe Creatives Expo before the walk starts the next day headed to Gwanda town.

“I will then walk from Gwanda town to Esigodini before proceeding to Bulawayo the next day.”

He said he anticipates side events during his walkathon as he is in the process of searching for potential sponsors. – @mthabisi_mthire
