A POLITICAL storm is brewing in the Nelson Chamisa led CCC as hackling among its supporters and sympathisers go unabated.
The past couple of days have witnessed an intense and raging war of words between the party’s activist, Hopewell Chin’ono and CCC self-exiled member and fugitive from the law, Makomborero Haruzivishe.
CCC’s troubles showed their ugly heads when Chamisa, unilaterally declared that his party would not be going for an electoral congress.
The decision irked the party’s stakeholders whose concerns fell by the wayside, but in the same fashion CCC was oblivious of the consequences.
Meanwhile, the chickens are coming home to roost.
The war of words and exchange of insults has torn CCC apart as the motor-mouth Chin’ono has directed his arsenals at that party.
Chin’ono’s reputation in this regard is undoubted. Many will remember that he is one of the key factors that saw Zimbabwe pushing for the promulgation of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Amendment Bill.
Haruzivishe, on the hand, considers himself a hard-core CCC member, and took a swipe at Chin’ono accusing him of misdirecting his efforts towards that party’s membership instead of hitting the Zanu PF camp.
Chin’ono has two dogs, Shabba and Buju, and he posts both pets religiously on social media.

Hopewell Chin’ono
Haruzivishe had to drive a point home depicting Chin’ono as having lost the plot altogether.
He deployed hard hitting satire characterising the journalist cum activist through his dog Shabba. Haruzivishe posted a video clip of a dog barking menacingly at its owners instead of instead of intruders. He insinuated that the anomalous situation was akin to a drunken Chin’ono who is known for his love for alcohol.
Haruzivishe captioned the video: “Ambassador Shabba gone rogue again. A dog that forgets its mandate in society is problematic. Instead of barking at thieves away, Shabba is busy biting the victims of robbery. If it is whiskey then Shabba must self-quarantine till sober. Imi muchinyanya munopirei imbwa doro (why do you feed beer to the dogs)”
In as much as Chin’ono loves his dogs, this allegory did not go down well with him.
The CCC deputy spokesperson, Gift “Ostallos” Siziba did not make things any easier either.
He posted a laughing icon at Haruzivishe’s venomous attack on Chin’ono. What was to follow was a legion of Chin’ono’s sympathisers calling Siziba to order.
This fairy-tale is interesting to follow through.
Siziba and CCC spokesperson, Fadzai Mahere, have been accused of capturing CCC leader, Nelson Chamisa, to the extent that the opposition leader takes advice from no one outside the pair.
Being that as it may, Chin’ono quickly crossed the T’s and dotting the I’s bringing out the picture that Chamisa had condoned the brawling attack on himself.
One sure thing is that CCC has no limits when it comes to contestation. It is surprising how Chin’ono had not processed this a long time ago.
He was so moved by the fact that he was likened to his beloved dog.
The irony of it is, when Zanu PF called for sanity in politics by advocating that CCC drops the sanctions begging-antics it sounded insane.
Sanctions-begging is akin to a scorched earth policy. It is literally the same as setting dogs on people. Why then Chin’ono is acting astonished baffles the mind.
Everyone is like a dog according to the CCC. That is no secret. However, it is about time we let Chin’ono lament on our behalf as Zimbabweans.
Chin’ono lamented over Haruzivishe’s submission by counter-posting that “calling me a dog with the blessing of your leadership is what makes CCC unattractive to many who chose to keep quiet and watch you tear your party into pieces! I have never been CCC and I will never be part of Zanu PF(B) which insults and calls people dogs”.
At least Chin’ono has made it known that the wanton attacks and calling for sanctions and ‘Operation Dudula’ on Zimbabweans is part and parcel of the grand scheme of events by Chamisa.
The CCC leadership would want as much chaos in Zimbabwe as possible just to create an illusion that Zanu PF is allegedly failing to run the country.
The toxicity of an opposition political party has a bearing on the generality of the country as whole.
It brews intolerance, hate speech and cultivates the ground for all the political ills that may befall a nation.
A closer look at Zimbabwe surely tells that some of the problems bedevilling the country are artificial and manufactured in political factories.
Someone has to tame the CCC or at least school them before it is really too late.
Allowing them to skip an elective congress heightened the ‘Fools Season’ in that party. There are established and acceptable trends and statutes for public governance across the globe.
The nomination processes are proving futile and a regression to the strides registered as far as improving the democratisation processes is concerned.
The attack on Chin’ono, although he attacks Zimbabwe at any chance he is awarded, is misplaced and simply tells a lot about the opposition we have as a country.
Democracy is suffering at the hands of the CCC and Zimbabwe deserves better.
As the nation heads for this year’s watershed polls, the electorate should take its time to assess the political parties and candidates who are offering themselves for election.
Those who work against the people are known and should be avoided like a plague.
