adminSouth provincial chairperson Cde Andrew Langa confirmed the death of Cde Ndlovu.
“I was informed yesterday that Cde Chrispen Ndlovu had passed on, on Monday at Maphisa District Hospital at about 9 am,” said Cde Langa.
He said he was saddened by Cde Ndlovu’s death, as he was a dedicated cadre and a veteran nationalist. “We have lost a gallant fighter in the armed struggle who was dedicated to the country and even after independence he soldiered on in the party,” said Cde Langa.
“We have recommended to the Politburo that Cde Ndlovu be accorded liberation war hero status and I am confident that the party will do so.”
He said as a province they were in mourning with the Ndlovu family.
“On behalf of the Matabeleland South province I would like to send my sincere condolences to the family. We are mourning as a nation and as a party because we have lost a gallant fighter and a good listener,” said Cde Langa.
District chairperson of the war veterans association in Matobo Cde John Clever Dube described Cde Ndlovu as a dedicated freedom fighter and a patriot.
Cde Ndlovu joined the armed struggle in 1977 when he went to Zambia via Botswana for military training.
Mourners are gathered at his homestead in Tshelanyemba where he would be buried on Saturday.
