MASHONALAND East war veterans’ leadership is set to host a series of meetings across the province to educate and strengthen Zanu-PF support base in the next fortnight ahead of the July 30 harmonised elections.

The move by the war veterans is set to buttress several campaigns held by the party’s candidates over the past two months.

Mashonaland East war veterans provincial political commissar, Cde Admire Rusere said war veterans in all districts will hold whirlwind campaigns aimed at propelling Zanu-PF to victory.

“We are now in the final stretch to the July 30 elections and it is now our role to unite every party supporter to vote for Zanu-PF candidates and President Mnangagwa.

“Our members at district level will move in all districts, wards and cell structures educating our people about the economic development brought by the new dispensation.

“Our manifesto is the main tool we are moving with to show people the vision President Mnangagwa’s administration has for the people,” said Cde Rusere.

Since the proclamation of the July 30 elections by President Mnangagwa, Zanu-PF candidates in Mashonaland East have held over 100 rallies in a bid to boost the party’s votes.

The Youth and Women’s League have played a pivotal role in aiding candidates to mobilise party supporters to vote for Zanu-PF.

War veterans have been instrumental in uniting party cadres and educating people about the gains and future plans of the new dispensation.

Cde Rusere indicated that Zanu-PF was ready to pounce on its opponents come the July 30 elections.

“President Mnangagwa’s message is very clear, we want a free and fair election. It is clear enough to preach to our people that Zanu-PF is set for victory,” he said.
