Residents of Nkulumane are set for a vibrant fitness extravaganza on May 25 as Ward 23 Councillor, in partnership with FitSquad, hosts a free Africa Day aerobics session aimed at promoting healthy living and community wellness.

“We are really happy to be granted an opportunity to host another particular session. Fitness is the way to go and we are encouraging people to come in their numbers                                        and consider to register for the                         event.”

The event, scheduled for Munyoro Complex, in Nkulumane, is expected to attract hundreds of fitness enthusiasts, young and old,                                                                                   in what organisers say will be a celebration of health, unity and African pride.

Running under the theme “Your Health Is Your Wealth,” the programme will kick off as early as 6:30am with a special aerobics session dedicated to elders, affectionately dubbed the “Gogo’s and Khulu’s Session.” Main activities are expected to continue from 7am.

Organisers said the initiative is designed to encourage communities to embrace active lifestyles while commemorating Africa Day                 through exercise, music and social interaction.

FitSquad, one of Bulawayo’s growing fitness movements, has been gaining popularity for taking wellness activities directly into communities and making them accessible to ordinary residents.

“This is more than just aerobics. It is about bringing people together, fighting lifestyle diseases and reminding the community that good health should be prioritised,” said FitSquad director Calvin “Khele” Nkomo.

The event is free for everyone, with organisers urging families, youths and senior citizens to attend in large numbers.

Aerobics and community fitness activities have increasingly                         become popular in Bulawayo as residents seek affordable ways to stay fit amid growing concerns over non-communicable diseases                                           such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity.

The colourful Africa Day-themed event is also expected to feature energetic workout sessions, dance routines and entertainment in a family-friendly environment.

Residents interested in participating can contact the organisers through FitSquad’s social media platforms or via the numbers provided on the event poster.

“Free for all” remains the                            rallying call for what promises to be one of Nkulumane’s biggest community fitness gatherings this month.
