ZIMBABWE are seeking to build momentum and wrest control of their Group E by securing another victory when they host Democratic Republic of Congo in their second 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at National Sports Stadium this evening.
Kick-off is 6pm.
The Warriors opened their account with a come-from-behind 2-3 win away to Sierra Leone in Morocco through a brace from vice-captain Marshall Munesti and Forward Tawanda Chirewa last Thursday night, while the Leopards also accounted for Equatorial Guinea 2-0.
Last week’s results leave the two sides as the early pacesetters in their group as they vie for a ticket to Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
Zimbabwe will be banking on home advantage as they return to the giant stadium for international matches, with early indications pointing to a sold-out crowd as demands for entrance tickets by the fans is souring by the day.
