ZIMBABWE’S Warriors will have to wait a little longer to ride in their new luxury team bus after a public holiday in South Africa delayed the completion of importation paperwork.
ZIFA acquired the branded bus from Irizar South Africa as part of efforts to improve transport arrangements for the senior national football team.
The latest acquisition takes to four the number of buses purchased by the association.
ZIFA had hoped to have the bus in Zimbabwe in time to welcome the Warriors home ahead of the Warriors showdown with DRC on Monday.
“Everyone is disappointed because we had wanted to welcome the Warriors back home in both style and luxury, but there is nothing that can be done,” a ZIFA insider said.
“We cannot circumvent the process. Unfortunately, we have to wait for all the necessary paperwork to be completed, but we hope the bus will soon be in the country and available for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers.”
