FOOTBALL can be cruel.

This was the case yesterday when wasteful Cranborne Bullets failed to get even a point from their Castle Lager Premiership duel with Yadah at the National Sports Stadium.

The army side wasted a glut of chances in the first half and this allowed Yadah to creep into the game after the breather.

The Miracle Boys then notched their second win of the season through right back Munashe Gwatidzo who scored during a goal mouth melee off a Wellington Kamudyariwa delivery into the box.

The goal was enough to separate the two teams and make the army side go home empty handed despite toiling the whole afternoon.

Yadah coach Expense Chitukutuku was happy with the improvement shown by his team in their last two outings.

“I am very happy for the team. I am happy for the youngsters. They are improving with each game. The youngsters are now getting into the box which is a good thing.

“We have a young team, some inexperienced so l am happy with their performance,” he said.

Cranborne Bullets coach Nesbert Saruchera said he was worried that his team continued to drop points. Bullets, who played a goalless draw against giants Dynamos in their previous match, are yet to find the back of the nets after playing five games this season.

“We were so unfortunate we couldn’t bury one or two chances but we created so many chances. We will go back to the drawing board and work on scoring goals.

“We need to start working again. In our previous matches we were not creating chances but today we did and we need to start converting,” said Saruchera.
