Zimbabwe’s tourism sector has received yet another vote of confidence—this time from African tourists who have described the Eastern Highlands as a “stunning” destination with world-class potential.

On Tuesday, Zimpapers caught up with groups of regional tourists at Mount Nyanga, where they expressed admiration for the breathtaking scenery and warm hospitality that characterise the area.

The tourists, in the country for the prestigious Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo, said the Eastern Highlands offered a unique and compelling experience that sets Zimbabwe apart on the continental tourism map.

“We are here warming up to get to Sanganai. We are from all different parts of Africa getting to support Zimbabwe and to say: come visit Zimbabwe,” said Nadia from South Africa.

A tour operator from Botswana echoed similar sentiments: “We are exploring different markets and the Eastern Highlands are just the best.”

The growing interest from African travellers signals increased intra-African tourism and showcases Zimbabwe’s readiness to attract high-value visitors through its diverse and rich tourism offerings.
