WATCH: American YouTube sensation IShowSpeed brings global spotlight to Victoria Falls

THE resort city of Victoria Falls on Thursday hosted international internet sensation IShowSpeed as part of his widely publicised African tour.

The American YouTuber and streamer, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr, is renowned for his high-energy, interactive content in which he immerses himself in local cultures across the globe.

His current “Speed Does Africa” tour has already attracted headlines across the continent, with previous stops in South Africa, Eswatini and Mozambique. Zimbabwe became his latest destination, with the majestic Victoria Falls taking centre stage.

Upon arrival at the iconic waterfall, IShowSpeed was welcomed by vibrant traditional dance performances. True to his engaging style, he joined in the celebrations to the delight and loud cheers of a crowd dominated by young fans.

His packed itinerary showcased the region’s diverse tourism offerings. He began his visit at The Elephant and Cheetah Experience before venturing into the misty Victoria Falls Rainforest to witness the awe-inspiring Mosi-oa-Tunya.

Demonstrating his trademark fearlessness, the social media star later took on a bungee jump off the Victoria Falls Bridge into the Batoka Gorge, before crossing over into Zambia.

IShowSpeed’s Zimbabwe visit began in Harare on Wednesday, where he engaged locals, participated in cultural activities and showcased the country’s vibrant lifestyle to his millions of global followers.

Through his lens, the natural splendour and adventure of Victoria Falls are being projected onto a worldwide stage, offering invaluable exposure for Zimbabwe’s premier tourism destination.
