Bulawayo is on Thursday set to burst into a vibrant explosion of colour, rhythm and culture as thousands of people converge at Barbourfields Stadium for this year’s Culture Month commemorations.
The City of Kings is expected to come alive with pulsating drumbeats, traditional dances, cultural exhibitions and a rich display of Zimbabwe’s heritage as communities from across the country gather for a celebration of identity, unity and tradition.
With exhibitors putting final touches to their displays and artists ready to take centre stage, excitement is already building ahead of the festivities.
Bulawayo Minister of Provincial Affairs and Devolution Cde Judith Ncube has invited Zimbabweans from all provinces to attend the commemorations, while urging revellers to celebrate responsibly and avoid crime. Artists, including Lewis Ndlovu of Drums of Peace, say the event is more than just entertainment — it is a powerful platform for preserving and promoting the nation’s rich cultural heritage.
