WATCH : Canaan Nyathi rises from the dust

In 2021 when the coronavirus catastrophe hit hard, South Africa-based Gospel sensation and business mogul Canaan Nyathi revealed his bank accounts depreciated, something which forced him to tone down on his expensive lifestyle.

Fans would get shocked to see the Baba Ziveze hitmaker marketing his luxurious cars for sale on his social media pages as he was “spending a lot on renewing motor vehicle licences for my toys, something which got the better of me.”

On the fleet of luxurious cars, he got rid of his Mercedes GLC 2019 edition which cost R980  000, Mercedes C200 2013 edition (R557 000), Audi A5 convertible (R825 000), and a Mini Cooper S 2020 (R550  000), to mention a few.

In all, the cars had a combined value of close to R5 million. It became hard to maintain the cars as Nyathi would spend thousands covering the cars’ licence discs per year and for maintenance.

If anything that he posted on social media recently is anything to go by, it seems life is back to “normal” for Nyathi as he recently spoiled himself with a brand new Mercedes-G Wagon.

According to information on the Mercedes-Benz website, a Wagon G 400 cost R 3 366 210.

On his recent achievement, Nyathi said all he has is about God manifesting and showing off his life.

He said most of the songs he has done with Spirit of Praise from Ngizizwa Ngiphele, Ngithol’ Umhlobo, Ngena Nathi and Ungu’Jehova Igama Lakho, are all songs of testimony which reveal that if one dedicates their life to God, all will be well.

As Spirit of Praise (SOP) are set to shoot their SOP 10 live-recording at SunBet Arena, Time Square, Pretoria, South Africa on 25 May, Nyathi said he will contribute a song on the DVD titled Ukwenzile.

“God has done a lot for me in my health, music, business and love among others spheres of my life. I have seen him working wonders in my life that is why I say ukwenzile (he has done it).

“I experience blessings in my life every day, Yes, it’s not easy but at the end of the day, I see him doing wonders in my life. I will also contribute another song titled Khulula Umoya Wami, which is a rendition of the famous Zimbabwean Apostolic song Sunungura Mweya wangu,” said Nyathi.

The multi-award winning singer is also a successful businessman with one of his companies being Canaan Nyathi Transport and Logistics.
