WATCH: Dr Gasolo soldiers on, walks over 200 kilometres in two days

POET Dr Gasolo has managed to soldier on and walk over 200 kilometres in two days during the course of the 250 kilometre Dr Gasolo Long Walk to Success.

Dr Gasolo completed the first leg of his journey on Thursday afternoon after walking from Matshetsheni village to Gwanda Town.

Upon arrival in the gold mining town, he was hosted by Gwand based creative Adrian “Drivo” Musa and and Gwanda entrepreneur Mr Clive “Mvelase” Dube behind, the dynamic young businessman behind the King Afghan Wholesalers.

On Friday, Dr Gasolo embarked on a 16 hour walk from Gwanda Town to Esigodini.

Today, he will conclude his journey with a final leg from Esigodini to Bulawayo.

Speaking as he walked past the famous “Danger” hill around 7am, Dr Gasolo said:

“Through this walk, l aim to bridge the gap between the business community and creatives; amplify the voices of creatives and raise awareness about drug and substance abuse.

“Thank you to everyone who’s supported this initiative. Let’s continue to promote arts, culture, and mental health awareness,” said Dr Gasolo.

As part of giving emerging artistes a platform to showcase their talent, Dr Gasolo will be welcomed in Bulawayo at Amakhosi Theatre where several performing artistes will entertain the audiences. These include Babygal 1tym, Mukazi The Love Poet, Mzali Wama 2K and Queen Nozy. The event will be hosted by MaDewa.
