THE 2026 Dumisani Foundation Finals are underway at Chiefs Village in Bulawayo, with young footballers taking centre stage in a day celebrating talent, education and creativity.
The event got underway on Saturday morning bringing together schools and academies in a competition designed to give youngsters a platform to showcase their abilities.
The headline clash sees Schools Select taking on Pelandaba Academy for the prestigious Dumisani Foundation trophy, with both sides eager to finish the day as champions.
Schools from Entumbane, Gifford, Milton, Mtshabezi, St Columbus and Mzilikazi are among those involved, giving the tournament a strong community feel.
Dumisani Foundation founder Dumisani Ndlovu said they were delighted to see the tournament reaching its 11th edition and continuing to provide opportunities for young people.
“We are very happy to reach the 11th edition. It shows that the tournament has grown and continues to make a difference in the lives of these young people. Our focus remains on using sport, education and art to inspire the next generation,” he said.
With the silverware up for grabs, the young players have plenty to play for, including bragging rights and the opportunity to catch the attention of coaches and development scouts.
However, the finals are about more than results.
The tournament brings together the three pillars of education, sport and art, which are represented on the Dumisani Foundation trophy.
