FORMER ZPC (Hwange) chairman Anderson Tembo has praised his late player Chabuka Mwale for his discipline. Mwale died at the age of 56 last Friday near Bulawayo following a road traffic accident.
He will be buried in Hwange on Wednesday.
“He was one of my favourite players during my administration years at Zesa Hwange. He was top notch when it came discipline,” said Tembo from Mpumalanga, South Africa.
Phillip Jambaya, a Hwange born and bred star who played for Hwange, one of Mwale’s former clubs said he was inspired by the former midfielder.
Growing up in Madumabisa, the likes of Mwale were already senior players who inspired a lot of youngsters to work harder and on matters of discipline.
Mwale’s remains were taken to Hwange on Tuesday after a brief funeral service attended by Mwale, Anthony Nakamba and netballer Debra Rendo among the Hwange community in Bulawayo.
The body is expected to be taken to Hwange Stadium a venue he lit with his skills for Sir Humphrey Gibbs and Hwange FC in his career.
After the parade he will then be taken to Madumabisa Cemetery for burial.
A charismatic personality, Mwale leaves behind wife Sibongile and five children.
