GWERU City Council-owned Go Beer Breweries has reopened after a decade-long closure, following a US$2.7 million investment by a local entity.

The revival was showcased during a tour led by the Minister of State for Midlands Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Owen Ncube, where Gweru City Council Mayor, Councillor Martin Chivhoko, gave the opening remarks.

Councillor Chivhoko stressed that the local authority supports President Mnangagwa’s industrialisation agenda, which is key to achieving Vision 2030, and noted that proceeds from the brewery will be used to enhance service delivery in the City of Progress.
