INTERNATIONAL buyers from several countries have arrived in Bulawayo ahead of the Zimbabwe Export Week Buyers Seminar, bringing fresh opportunities for local businesses to showcase their products and explore new export markets.

The buyers, drawn from Mozambique, Poland, Zambia, Eswatini, Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the United Kingdom, China, Rwanda and Germany, are expected to engage local businesses as Zimbabwe intensifies efforts to grow exports and expand its international trade footprint.

Their arrival comes at a time when the country is seeking to diversify its export markets, strengthen regional trade and increase the contribution of exports to economic growth.

Zimbabwe Export Week provides a platform for local producers and exporters to engage international buyers, explore business partnerships and identify opportunities to penetrate new markets.

The visiting buyers were welcomed by Zimbabwe Tourism Authority officials, who handed them national fabric as part of the reception.

The gesture show Zimbabwe’s cultural identity and hospitality as the country prepares to host the international delegates for the buyers’ seminar.

The participation of buyers from markets across Africa, Europe and Asia presents an opportunity for local exporters to establish commercial relationships beyond traditional destinations.

The Zimtrade seminar is expected to bring together businesses and international buyers, creating a platform for discussions on market access, product sourcing and potential trade partnerships.

Zimbabwe has been pursuing export-led growth as part of efforts to boost foreign currency earnings, support industrial production and strengthen the competitiveness of locally manufactured goods.

The arrival of the international buyers underscores the importance of trade promotion initiatives in connecting local producers with potential overseas markets.

The event also provides an opportunity to showcase Bulawayo’s industrial and manufacturing base while positioning it as a regional centre for trade and business engagement.
