THE Bulawayo Fire Brigade is on the scene of an accident involving a small vehicle and a fuel tanker.

Motorists from both sides of the road are being diverted to safe routes while firefighters are busy at work containing the fuel spill on the highway

A Zimpapers news crew is on the scene of the accident and the initial indications are that there is no fatality recorded.

The damaged small vehicle has been towed away.

Fire Brigade chief fire officer Mr Mhlangano Moyo is at the scene of the accident, coordinating the clean-up efforts.

He said the scene of the accident was closed off because fuel is a highly flammable liquid that can cause massive damage if ignited.

Police officers are also at the scene of the accident.
