The Ezinangeni hitmaker was accompanied by his wife over the weekend to Harare for the collection of the Toyota Hilux GD6 Dakar.
Chivayo, the cars blesser, saw Marabini delivering a stellar performance at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), at a banquet graced by President Emmerson Mnangagwa while hosting the Kenyan president Dr William Ruto, who was the guest of honour at the fair.
Chivayo, fell in love with Marabini’s performance which led him to deliver a kind gesture and bless the muso with a car.
“Yesterday evening (26 April), I had the privilege to watch two heads of states and governments enjoying some wonderful Jazz or Afro-Pop music from a distance. When you support national events you make me happy and when you make me happy what follows is obvious.
“On that note, I say congratulations to Mr Majahawodwa Ndlovu popularly known as Jeys Marabini from Filabusi, Matabeleland South. Please, go to Enterprise Car Sales and see Madzibaba Chipaga. US$48 000 has been paid this morning and your Toyota Hilux GD6 Dakar double cab is ready for collection.
“Your contribution and continued support at ZANU PF rallies and national events throughout the years together with the significant contribution you have made in the music industry will never be forgotten.
“Enjoy your ride and please continue supporting ZANU PF, the revolutionary party and attending national events. God bless you,” posted Chivayo on his Facebook timeline.
Marabini said he is grateful for such a kind gesture and he gave thanks to the president for inviting him to perform at the banquet.
“I would like to give thanks to His Excellency President E.D Mnangagwa for inviting me to the banquet during the ZITF, and I am grateful for the opportunity because this is the same place where Sir Wicknell Chivayo saw me perform.
“I am here in Harare to collect the car and I am proud to say I have finally received the car with all the papers and I will be driving it to Bulawayo.
“I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Sir Wicknell Chivayo for recognising the works I do for our beloved country and for honouring me with the gift of a car.
“Surely I am humbled beyond measure. I am highly encouraged to continue contributing immensely in the growth and development of our nation as a creative,” said Marabini.
