Watch: MILITARY MAGIC AT PRESTIGE… Army turns school graduation into colourful, drum-filled celebration

PRESTIGE Primary School turned its usually quiet hall into a festival of color, cheers and military precision when it hosted a unique graduation and prize-giving ceremony themed awarding excellence and naturing talent in the 5.0 model of education headlined by officers from HQ 1 Infantry Brigade and the prestigious military band.

In a rare but heart warming sight, children beamed with excitement as members of the Zimbabwe National Army mingled freely with pupils, parents and teachers. The cool, welcoming atmosphere was filled with wide smiles, applause and the rhythmic boom of military drums that left the young graduates in absolute  asking for some more .

 

The guest of honour, Captain Biola Sqhoza, the Public Relations Officer for 1 Infantry Brigade,
Dressed in full military uniform, the officers’ presence added a dignified tone to the event while the band’s performances brought a lively, celebratory energy that had pupils dancing and marching along enthusiastically.

Teachers said the involvement of the army provided pupils with positive role models and exposed them to values such as teamwork, responsibility and patriotism. Parents echoed the sentiment, saying the partnership showed that the army is not only about defending the country but also about uplifting communities.
