KoSamuriwo is a fresh joint that caters for everyone from all walks of life as it provides entertainment, food and beverages at an average price.  It also works as a multi-purpose centre for the community of Luveve as meetings and stokvels are also done at the centre in the early hours of the weekends.

Msiz’Kay’s event was part of the joint’s efforts of empowering local artistes by giving them a platform to perform at the same time allowing them to foster a relationship with their fans and potential followers.

At the sold out gig, Msiz’Kay performed his hits from the fans’ favourite Ngawuzw’Umoya wami, iCherry Yami, Kulula, Inkomo Zamalobolo, Ingoma Zothando, amongst others.

After his performance, Msiz’Kay said he enjoyed partying with his fans koSamuriwo, as he said the crowd complemented his set on stage.

“I had fun performing KoSamuriwo, it was a different experience compared to what I am used to but it was a great experience and I enjoyed every minute of it. I learnt a lot from the crowd because I was able to get a feel of what they like most and understand what moves them and to dance and to vibe. They complemented my set as they did sing along to some of their favourite songs,” said Msiz’Kay.

The proprietor of the entertainment centre Brian Samuriwo said they were delighted with the number of patrons they are attracting on events that feature local acts.

“We are delighted with the number of patrons that we are attracting every time we host a gig with a local artiste being the main act. It’s a sign that we are on the right path and we are fulfilling our vision, which is giving local acts a stage to perform and shine.

“I was blown away by watching Msiz’Kay’s performance. He is a talented guy and many people can resonate with his music either based locally or abroad. We made him the headlining act for that particular event because we knew many Diasporas would vibe with his music,” said Samuriwo.

Meanwhile, the Brian Samuriwo Foundation will be hosting a gig dubbed Park n Chill – Kasi edition to be held at Chigumira Grounds, Luveev on 7 April. Msiz’Kay will be part of the artistes who will perform at the event.
