WATCH: Nash national competitions kicks off in Chinhoyi

NATIONAL Association of Secondary School Heads (NASH) Under-17 ball games’ finals have started at Chinhoyi High School pitting teams from the country’s 10 provinces on Wednesday.

Trinos Mbwiriri, the head in charge of soccer nationally said 13 teams are taking part.
This event has attracted champion schools from the provinces and are competing in rugby, netball and soccer.

“We are gathered here at Chinhoyi for the Under-17 competitions, the preparations went well, the Zifa and the Zimbabwe Netball Association are here to scout for players who will play for the country,” said Mbwiriri.
He called on teams to embrace Fair Play and make the tournament a success.

In boys’ soccer Bulawayo Metropolitan Province is represented by Mpopoma High School, Midlands (Guinea Fowl), Mashonaland West (Rimuka), Matabeleland South (Zezani), Harare (Harare High School), Mashonaland Central (Chipindura), Harare (Prince Edward), Manicaland (St Mathias), Wunganayi who were disqualified for cheating last year have found their way back making one of the pools play with an odd number of five instead of four, Masvingo (Gutu High School), Matabeleland North (Gloag) and Mashonaland East (Waddilove).

Headmasters representing respective provinces have predicted intense competition after what they described as good preparations.
The competitions will end on Friday.
