THE Plumtree Border Post is now operating 24 hours a day to ensure seamless entry and exit of travellers and goods during the festive season.
Immigration officials at the border on Tuesday morning briefed the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Barbara Rwodzi, ahead of a meet-and-greet with visitors, that the border is open for 24 hours.
Ordinarily, the border post closes at 10pm.
Thousands of travellers from Botswana and South Africa are returning home for the festive season.
Minister Rwodzi is at the Plumtree Border Post for a meet-and-greet with Zimbabweans arriving back home for the festive season, as well as tourists visiting the country.
An average of 700 vehicles, 13 buses and 90 haulage and commercial trucks pass through the Plumtree Border Post daily during the festive season.
