POLICE in Bulawayo have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening partnerships with communities and stakeholders to improve safety and service delivery in the province.
Speaking during the relaunch of the 2026 ZRP Bulawayo Client Service Charter on Wednesday, Officer Commanding ZRP Bulawayo, Commissioner Jasper Chizemo, said the service charter and related initiatives will remain vibrant, inclusive and open to collaboration with organisations and individuals who share the same vision of building a safer and more secure society.
“We pledge to keep this and other initiatives vibrant, inclusive and open to new members. However, we will only work with partners who are well-intentioned, properly vetted and share our vision to build the country in the next phase of reform,” said Commissioner Chizemo.
He acknowledged that there may have been shortcomings in the past but stressed that the launch of the service charter marks a turning point in the way policing will be conducted in the province, adding that the era of excuses is over.

“Going forward, we are committing ourselves to professionalism, discipline and dedication in the execution of our duties,” said Commissioner Chizemo.
Comm Chizemo said the standards outlined in the service charter were not merely symbolic but represented a firm commitment to deliver quality service to the public.
“The line has been drawn and the standard has been raised. Delivery is not optional. We ask the public to trust us and partner with us so that together we can build a safer and brighter future for our communities,” said Commissioner Chizemo.
He concluded his address by reiterating the police’s constitutional mandate to serve the public impartially and uphold the rule of law.
“We are for the people, we are for the country and we are for the law,” said Commissioner Chizemo.
