REDCLIFF based preschool, Clover Pre-school has put smiles on the faces of the elderly in the community after gifting them with food hampers and clothing.

The donations were handed over to the senior citizens during the Grandparents Fun Day held by the institution in honour of the elderly.
The foodstuffs were fundraised for by the children through their parents and other well-wishers.

Clover Pre-school director Mrs Rudo Shumba said the idea was a way of teaching the young ones to take care of the elderly from an early age.
“This is part of catching them young in Helping awareness and promoting Cultural heritage and our Indigenous Languages. So we want them to be able to start taking care of the elderly from an early age,” she said.
Mrs Shumba said they managed to raise food hampers and winter clothing which were handed over to the elderly.
“We are very grateful to the parents and the community at large who were very supportive through the donations. We managed to give each of the about 25 elderly a food hamper and winter clothing which were donated by the community and parents. We are looking forward to continuing helping the elderly as we go forward,” she said.
The preschool learners were clad as elderly making the fun day memorable.
