THE schools athletics season is gaining momentum, with a number of them having held their inter-house championships on Thursday.

Many more are expected to continue on Friday.

Gifford High School athletes tested each other’s potential in the school’s inter-house championships, which featured Davy, Faraday, Withworth and Dalton Houses, as the boys ran, threw and jumped for the traditional inter-house bragging rights, a decades-old culture.

The event was for the school to choose athletes for the Bulawayo Central Inter-Schools Championships set for White City Stadium next Thursday and Friday.

Outstanding athletes will represent the district in the Bulawayo Championships.
