GIFFORD High School have declared themselves ready for the Bulawayo Central Secondary Schools Athletics Championships set for White City Stadium on Thursday and Friday.
Most schools are done and dusted with their Inter-House competitions. They are used to select athletes to represent the school at the next stage of competition which is the inter-cluster or district finals.
Gifford concluded its team selection on Thursday with Inter-House championships which had the same colour and verve of decades.
Sifiso Moyo declared the school ready to face old rival Milton High School and other Bulawayo Central teams.
Athletics is enjoying a new lease of life with elite athletes standing their ground.
Moyo’s sentiments on readiness were echoed by sports captain Moses Manjengwa.
