WATCH: Scores gather for prisons golf tournament

SCORES of golfers, including inmates from Bulawayo and Khami prison, gathered at Harry Allen Golf Club in Bulawayo on Saturday for the Commissioner-General’s Goodwill Trust Fund Golf Tournament.

Golfers from across Zimbabwe took part in the tournament, with various provinces of the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) sending teams to the event.

The tournament is the second edition since its launch and, for the first time, inmates are participating alongside members of the public.

Colleges and universities from Bulawayo are also taking part in the event, which is being held under the theme: “Rekindling Hope Through — Teeing Up Second Chances.”

 

Funds raised from the tournament will be used to support orphaned children of former ZPCS members, as well as other vulnerable children from the general public.

City businessman Jabulani Nkomo performed the official tee-off alongside Bulawayo Metropolitan Provincial chief Mkhulunyelwa Ngwenya.
