Songstress Sisa Senkosi has teamed up with South African music duo Qwabe Twins on a new single set for release on Friday.
The UK-based Maskandi artiste said the track titled Buya, is an emotional anthem that explores love, longing and the pain of separation.
Blending soulful harmonies with Maskandi influences, the song captures the vulnerability that comes with missing a loved one, reflecting sleepless nights and the quiet ache of absence.
Sisa Senkosi said the making of Buya unfolded across borders, giving the project a unique international flavour.
“The collaboration began in South Africa in October 2025, where we first created the melody. In November, I invited the Qwabe Twins to the United Kingdom where they performed at my annual Mingle and Slay event for fans who miss authentic African sounds.
“We later returned to Durban in January to shoot a high-production music video, completing what has been a whirlwind creative journey across continents.”
She said the song’s lyrics speak directly to anyone who has experienced deep emotional attachment.
“With lines like ‘Days go down and you are still not here… I cannot eat or sleep’, the song reflects how love can completely consume you,” said Sisa Senkosi.
“It’s for anyone who feels they cannot live without their other half.”
The collaboration is expected to strengthen Sisa Senkosi’s regional footprint while introducing fresh cross-border sounds to her growing fan base. – Follow on X @mthabisi_mthire
