WATCH: They have arrived! South Africa Women’s Cricket team touch down in Zimbabwe

THE countdown is almost over, and the visitors are here!
The South African women’s cricket team arrived in Zimbabwe on Monday, bringing with them plenty of excitement and anticipation ahead of a highly anticipated five-match T20I series against the hosts, the Zimbabwe Women.

For cricket lovers in Zimbabwe, this is more than just another international series. It is an opportunity to witness two of Southern Africa’s finest women’s cricket teams go head-to-head, with pride, competition and regional bragging rights all on the line.

The Proteas Women will take on the Lady Chevrons in five T20I matches, scheduled for 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19 September 2026.

All five encounters will be played at the iconic Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, giving local supporters the chance to experience international women’s cricket right on their doorstep.

And with the South Africans now safely in the country, the excitement is beginning to build.

The visitors arrive with plenty to prove, while Zimbabwe will be determined to put on a strong showing on home soil. T20 cricket can change in a matter of moments, one explosive batting innings, a brilliant spell with the ball or a stunning piece of fielding can completely turn a match around.

That unpredictability is exactly what makes this series so exciting.

For Zimbabwe’s players, facing South Africa provides another valuable opportunity to test themselves against a team with considerable international experience. For the Proteas Women, meanwhile, the series presents a chance to build momentum, settle combinations and make their presence felt from the opening match.

Cricket fans can watch all five matches at Queens Sports Club without paying an admission fee. It is a wonderful opportunity for families, young aspiring cricketers and passionate supporters to come out and back the Lady Chevrons.

The first ball is scheduled for 1:30pm in on each match day.
