WATCH: Vehicle plunges onto Railway tracks in Mpopoma

A dramatic road traffic incident occurred in Mpopoma in Bulawayo on Saturday night just after 8pm when a vehicle reportedly lost control and fell onto a railway track, sparking shock among residents and passers-by.

Zimpapers is at the scene and details say the vehicle landed on the tracks under unclear circumstances, with no driver or passengers found inside at the time of observation.

By the time of reporting, police and emergency services had not yet arrived at the scene. Members of the public had gathered on a bridge overlooking the railway line, watching the horrific scene as the vehicle lay on the tracks below.

The cause of the accident remains unknown, and it was also not immediately clear whether the occupants managed to escape before the vehicle landed on the railway line or if they fled the scene.

Authorities are expected to attend the scene and commence investigations into the incident.
