CHICKEN Inn FC head coach Prince Matore has said his side is as big as Dynamos, stressing that the weekend Castle Lager Premiership clash between the two clubs would be a blockbuster.

Both sides are tied on 22 points, with Dynamos occupying fifth position while Chicken Inn are sixth owing to an inferior goal difference.

“Dynamos is a big name. Chicken Inn is a big team and we have been doing better than them all along. Everyone wants to see who is who at Barbourfields, so it’s going to be a competitive game. Everyone is going to be fighting to get three points,” said Matore.

He said his side has prepared well for the potentially explosive encounter.

“We are working on all our departments and the team is looking good. The remedy is there, we are creating chances and missing, we just need to improve on the precision. We need to score more goals.

“So far so good, we have lost two and drawn seven and won five, we have to remain focused and collect more points.

“I cannot say l am content but we are in the chasing pack there is no need for me to say we are top of the table or we must be second. It’s important that we are in the chasing pack,” said Matore.

Last season, Dynamos finished their campaign in position three with 58 points from 34 matches, 17 points behind champions FC Platinum.

On the other hand, Gamecocks finished their campaign on number two with 63 points after posting 18 wins, nine draws and seven losses.

The two teams go into tomorrow’s encounter at the back of stalemates. Dynamos drew nil all with FC Platinum while Chicken Inn were held to a 1-1 draw by Green Fuel.

Last season, in a first-leg encounter that was played on February 27, Chicken Inn edged DeMbare 1-0 courtesy of a Brian Muza strike.

The second leg encounter that was staged at Barbourfields Stadium on July 23, 2022, saw DeMbare thump the Prince Matore mentored side 3-0.

This time around the Harare giants will be coming to the City of Kings having at least seven players who have their football roots in Bulawayo.

In their books they have ex-Bulawayo Chiefs midfielder Arthur “Diego” Musiyiwa who joined the blue and white army together with Mpofu, Shadreck Nyahwa, Junior Makunike, Tinashe Makanda as well as the Moyo twins Kevin and Elvis whose careers also started in Bulawayo.
