IN Bulawayo, some siblings who prefer anonymity have crafted a sanctuary where families can thrive together. Playville Planet is not just a play centre; it’s a lifestyle revolution nestled in the city’s central business district.
This enchanting haven offers an array of games, a serene cafeteria for parents, a chic clothing and toy shop, and a whimsical party room for the most memorable children’s celebrations.
The play centre is a mosaic of excitement, featuring wall climbing, zip lines, virtual adventures, bouncing games and educational playrooms where creativity and intellect intertwine through block building and puzzle solving.
Delight Ncube, the branch manager says Playville Planet is a realm where age is but a number, welcoming children from two to 18 years and young adults under 120kg.
“The play centre is open to children from two years up to 18 years and young adults who are under 120kg. So the centre allows both children and their parents to have some bonding time and interact with each other,” Delight articulates the core of their mission.
The centre’s popularity has soared since its grand opening, with Delight expressing a delightful concern.
“We are worried the place might get small because a lot of people have interest in coming in,” she says with a hint of pride.
Safety and peace of mind are the cornerstones of Playville Planet, with top-notch equipment imported from China and expertly assembled by dedicated professionals.
“This is because we wanted something that would be very safe for everyone especially the young ones and their parents would be at ease knowing their children are at peace,” said Delight.
Takudzwa Maruni, the marketing and digital manager , describes the centre as an indoor playground that transcends mere entertainment.
“However, it’s not all about fun and games here, we are also educational where children build blocks, solve puzzles and do robotics all as part of sharpening their minds.
“The idea is to unlock academic potential, the cognitive benefits of play centres infused with AI and technology for kids, engaging in different foreign languages for example Mandarin and Dutch.”
In recent years, the concept of play has evolved beyond traditional notions, with play centres now incorporating cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance children’s cognitive development. Playparks featuring trampolines, sticky walls, dodge balls, wall climbing and virtual reality are not just sources of entertainment; they offer a myriad of academic benefits that contribute to a child’s overall growth and learning.
“We also host parties for the little ones at the party rooms. Parents come and book the place and we do an animated party with any type of cartoons they would have chosen,” Takudzwa reveals.
A team of 20 passionate individuals ensures that every family’s visit to Playville Planet is an unforgettable journey of joy and connection. It’s a place where lifestyle meets playtime and every moment is an opportunity to bond and grow.–@flora_sibanda
