AFRO-fusion star Fab G MshanakaGogo has struck gold with his latest single, “Imali Yesgweja”, a track already setting social media ablaze and poised to dominate festive playlists across the country.

Released this week, the vibrant anthem has quickly become a crowd favourite, perfectly timed for the festive season party mood.

The project is a collaborative gem – Fab G MshanakaGogo on vocals, Cliff Jeans handling the mix and mastering at Street Menace Studios, and CheckKid Beats from South Africa crafting the addictive beat.

The music video, shot by Brooklyn Films International, captures the daily grind and celebrations of small-scale miners at Imbesu Mine, as well as their downtime at Royal Big Bar in Habane suburb, Esigodini. The visuals tell a story of hard work, unity, and joy, true to the song’s spirit.

Adding flair to the production, Royal Finest Dance Crew from Old Magwegwe, Fab G’s hometown, showcase electric dance moves, while the Vintage Culture Association bring an extra layer of style and swagger to the set.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the song, Fab G MshanakaGogo revealed that it all started as a freestyle that resonated deeply with audiences.
“The song came as a freestyle when I had a gig at Mawabeni Royal Divas. I wanted to give people something they could relate to. By public demand, I recorded it and shared a demo with some DJs, next thing, I was getting messages that it’s blowing up,” he said.

“‘Imali YeSgweja’ was inspired by the hustle, the grind, and the dreams born deep in the mines. It’s a tribute to those chasing their bag, no matter how tough the journey, from the dirt to the shine. I’m grateful to my brother Musa Zulu, Naythan who runs Royal Big Bar, and Bra Vancy of Imbesu Mine for helping make this project possible.” – Follow on X: @mthabisi_mthire
