WATCH: Zimbabwe opens Africa Championships campaign with sprint events

ZIMBABWE’S first athlete on the track on Tuesday Samukeliso Ndebele is ready to take to the 100m starting blocks at the Africa Senior Championships at the University of Ghana University Stadium.
She is among nine Zimbabwe athletes in action on Tuesday.

She is excited about the prospect of representing her country at this level and is hopeful of qualifying for the next two stages of the event.
After the heats on Tuesday afternoon, there will be semis in the evening.
The 100m trio of Methembe Tshuma, Tapiwanashe Makarawu and Ngoni Makusha will follow later with Ashley Miller’s 100m hurdles heats lined up too.
Dennis Hove, Thandazani Ndhlovu and Leeford Zuze will be in action in the 400m as will Anesu Nyahuma in the women’s.
The event started in the morning with the decathlon event.
