Harare regional Magistrate Mr Taurai Manuwere has upheld an application for exception and acquitted Waverley Blankets and Plastics boss Aron Vico of the fraud charges held against him.
The complainants in the matter were Amanda Berkowitz and Belynda Halfon who had roped in a private prosecutor Mr Charles Warara in the trial then later changed to Mr Tendai Biti’s firm.
His daughters were accusing Vico of fraudulently assuming ownership of Waverly Plastics.
The sisters had approached the court seeking to set aside the allotment of shares that gave Vico power to take over Waverley Plastics.
But Vico denied the allegations and filed his application for exception saying the charges he is facing do not disclose an offence.
Vico, through his lawyer Mr Admire Rubaya submitted that the case showed no offence and was bad at law.
Mr Manuwere ruled in favour of Vico saying the facts on the charge sheet do not disclose an offence and found Vico innocent.
