NEWLY-PROMOTED ZIFA Northern Region Division One Soccer League side Highrange director, Weyne “Boss Webba” Zimunya, says they are not in the league to add numbers but to compete.
The businessman, who co-owns the team with his brother Kuziwa, was a happy man after they won the Harare Province Division Two A and B play-offs against Scottland U-19 at Rufaro on Sunday.
Highrange topped the Division Two A league standings and grabbed the Harare Province League sole ticket into Division One for the 2026 season.
“We are going to take part in the Northern Region come 2026.
“We are not here to add numbers but to compete and push for Premiership promotion.
“We started the project as a social team but after some few years we have since turned professional and we are going to maintain the status.
“We are aware that the ZIFA Northern Region Soccer League is one of the most competitive but we have already proved that we belong to the competitive league,” said Zimunya.
Highrange are under the guidance of Sheppard Mudada and Dananai Chinovava.
“We have so much love for the game as former players and that is why we brought in some experienced coaches.
“The project started in Mutare where we used to play for teams like Buffaloes and Tenax but we later moved to Harare and we took on board Mudada and Chinovava who played soccer at the highest level.
“The coaches managed to adjust after relocating from Mutare and we are happy that they have made a name for themselves.
“I think we are more than ready to play in the Northern Region Division One league. We have a good side that has done well in Division Two.
“The team has been promoting young players and, by next year, most of them will be mature enough for the big stage and will definitely leave a mark.”
