TRIANGLE goalkeeper Matripples Muleya is confident of a good outing when his team faces Chicken Inn this Saturday.
The side from the Lowveld is still within the relegation zone and every point now is crucial. His incentive he said, is to leave Bulawayo with maximum points after beating Chicken Inn on Saturday. He said going into the fixture he has all the motivation to want to excel.
“We started the season very well, I was one of the best goalkeepers in the league in terms of numbers, but as the season wore on, things changed.
“We are playing at home for me personally because Bulawayo is where I grew up. The same can also be said of our coach Thulani Sibanda who has coached at Bulawayo Chiefs for a long time, therefore we know what we are approaching in the game and the kind of challenges we will face from our opponents who are playing well and are in the title mix. This means that any result from this match is absolutely possible, but I am giving my team a chance in this one,” said Muleya.
Their opponents Chicken Inn are in fourth place and cannot to be ruled out of the title chase as they are eight points behind the log leaders Ngezi Platinum.
Muleya said the team is fully aware of the task at hand.
“They are in a contrasting situation to us. It is obvious that at this point we are approaching the match as underdogs but one thing for sure is that we know them and we have worked a lot on trying to stop them from attacking us where it would hurt most, hence we are aware and ready for the task at hand,” said Muleya.
Triangle coach Thulani ”Thutsi” Sibanda alongside his three players in Ghanaian Wilson Mensah, midfielder Lucky Ndlela and the goalkeeper Muleya previously represented Bulawayo Chiefs, a team which can be dubbed as Chicken Inn’s neighbors as the two teams share the same training pitches at times and will be gunning for bragging rights.
