ZIFA has conceded that it owes fired Mighty Warriors coach Shadreck Mlauzi a substantial amount of money in winning bonuses among other perks during his reign at the helm of the senior ladies team.
But the association will not budge in its refusal to pay the coach salaries owed to him in the two years that he was coach of the Mighty Warriors.
The lawyer representing the former coach, Prince Butshe Dube of Mathonsi Ncube Chambers told B-Metro Sport that lawyers representing Zifa had asked him to re-serve them with the litigation papers for further assessment.
a?We expect them to get back to us with a detailed response sometime next week but the general consensus is that Zifa owes our client winning bonuses, appearance and camping fees during the time that he was under their employment.
a?The only sticking issue is the monthly salaries which our client feels he is entitled to. Once the Zifa lawyers give us their response then our client will instruct us on the way forward,a? said Butshe Dube.
Mlauzi was dismissed by Zifa at the recommendation of the High Performance Committee earlier this year.
The coach wants Zifa to compensate him for non-payment of salaries since he took over the Mighty Warriors in September 2015, camping allowances when the team played in the Olympics and Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifiers.
He is also seeking match fees when the team played in Brazil and Cameroon in the two major tournaments as well as foreign camping fees. Mlauzi wants compensation for unlawful termination of his contract despite the fact that it was not written.
