MUTARE is set for another action-packed weekend as gospel music, live performances, DJs and nightlife collide to give entertainment lovers plenty of reasons to step out.
From an inspirational afternoon of worship at Chancellor Junior School to energetic nights at some of the city’s popular entertainment spots, there is something for every taste. Gospel enthusiasts will have a major date with the Mahendere family and an impressive supporting cast, while club-goers can look forward to Afro rhythms, old-school classics and high-energy DJ sets.
Chancellor Junior School
The venue will host the Messiah Tour Mutare tomorrow from 2pm to 8pm, bringing together some of Zimbabwe’s finest gospel voices. The line-up features, Michael Mahendere, Misherk Mahendere, Vimbai Mahendere, Tapiwa Masara, Larry Gunda, Dorcas Moyo, Prince Jacha and Cloris Machuwaire for an afternoon of worship, music and inspiration. Known for his powerful vocals and song writing, Michael Mahendere has carved a strong niche in Zimbabwe’s gospel music scene. The star-studded event promises an uplifting experience for gospel lovers and is expected to be one of the weekend’s major highlights.
Chitsa Bar and Liquids
Patrons should get ready for an unforgettable weekend of music, energy and good vibes at Chitsa Bar and Liquids, situated in Dangamvura. The entertainment kicks off on Thursday with Queens Night, a celebration of the ladies promising a vibrant and lively atmosphere. Friday switches gears with Afro Friday, bringing infectious African rhythms and a party-ready soundtrack. The weekend continues with Safari Saturday, where DJs Stixxie and Popinjo will take over the turntables, blending sounds and keeping patrons on the dance floor. Muchina Muhombe
The entertainment joint in Penhalonga is set to come alive tomorrow with a vibrant Colour Festival headlined by Zim-dancehall sensations, Hwindi President, Reymar and Edge Sparta. The trio will be supported by the ZPCS Manicaland Band, while MC Bento and Easy will keep the energy high on the turntables.
Beyond the music, families are catered for with a range of activities for children, including jumping castles, horse riding, water slides and quad biking, making the festival an exciting day out for both music lovers and families.
Galaxy Nite Hub
The drinking spot is preparing for a high-energy weekend with DJ Nasty taking charge of the decks. Gullivers Night Club
DJ Apple D and other selected wheel spinners will be tasked with keeping the weekend crowd entertained. Situated at Jairosi Jiri Building, opposite Megawatt, the venue offers another convenient nightlife destination for patrons looking to enjoy quality music and a lively atmosphere from tonight till Sunday.
