Zimbabwe is moving closer to commercialising its Cabora Bassa gas discoveries, with the Australia-headquartered firm, Invictus Energy, advancing plans for early gas supplies for power generation, mining and industry.
The development marks a potential shift in the multi-billion-dollar project from exploration towards production following the signing of a Petroleum Production Sharing Agreement with the Government and approval for pilot gas production.

Zimbabwean financial advisory firm Bard Santner Inc, which specialises in asset management, corporate finance, wealth management and remittances, is handling a historic US$1,63 billion initial public offering (IPO) for the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE — the world’s largest single-train oil refinery. Bard Santner Investors, a subsidiary of the company, is specifically handling the process.

Policies adopted by the Government and enacted by Parliament are unlocking value through investment across different sectors of the economy, in line with the National Development Strategy 2, President Mnangagwa has said.
He made the remarks in his State of the Nation Address (SONA), during which he officially opened the Fourth Session of the 10th Parliament at new Parliament building in Mt Hampden.

Prominent businessman Wicknell Chivayo (43), wife Lucy “Lulu” Muteke and three other people died on Wednesday when a helicopter they were travelling in crashed in Marondera rural, Mashonaland East province. The helicopter, which had five occupants, crashed around 5pm at a farm near Waddilove Mission.

The Government must keep listening to the people, as they expect it to deliver policies that put their welfare and needs at the core of national development, President Mnangagwa has said.
The President, who is also the First Secretary of ZANU PF, said this on Thursday while addressing the 132nd Ordinary Session of the revolutionary party’s Central Committee at the party headquarters in Harare.
